Traditional, Affordable Martial Arts for the Whole Family
At Golden Dragon Martial Arts all classes are taught by certified
black belts. Head instructor Sensei Julie Keil is a Yondan (4th
degree black belt) in both karate and kobudo and is one of the highest
ranked women in OKDR kobudo in the world. Sensei Keil has been
training since 1976 and has travelled to Okinawa, Japan to train with
master instructors in both karate and kobudo.
Golden Dragon Martial Arts trains under Sensei Neil Stolsmark, 7th degree
black belt in karate and 7th degree black in kobudo. Sensei Stolsmark is
the head of the North American branch of OKDR kobudo and is one of the top
martial artists in the country.

Arts, the North American head of OKDR Kobudo.
- All karate black belts are personally tested and certified by
Sensei Neil Stolsmark, through the Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan, under
Sensei Nakazato of Naha, Okinawa.
- All kobudo black belts are tested and certified by Sensei Neil
Stolsmark, through the OKDR under Sensei Gakiya, of Naha, Okinawa.
- Students travel to national martial arts camps.
- Students learn self-defense and develop self-esteem.
- Classes allow parents and children to train together to include the whole family.
- Classes specially designed for younger children (5 to 7 years old), that emphasize coordination, discipline and flexibility.

Information about our Sensei
Sensei Stolsmark has been actively training in the Martial Arts for
about 30 years. He has been a full time Karate instructor since 1983.
Called the "Instructor of the Instructors", he has an insightful,
precise teaching style rarely seen in martial arts training. Many of
his students include qualified martial artists and Karate studio owners.
He inspires both young and old and his enthusiasm is contagious. In his
search for knowledge, he has traveled extensively in the United States,
Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan and Okinawa, having the good fortune
to be exposed to many Karate styles and master instructors. He is one
of 18 people outside of Okinawa to represent 10th dan Shorinkan Grandmaster
Shugoro Nakazato as a conferred instructor (Kyoshi - 7th Dan) of Karate-do.
His Kobudo teacher is 8th dan Sensei Yoshiaki Gakiya of Okinawa.
